In addition, the proposal is to replace the front door due to rotting and cracking of the wood allowing ingress of water and draughts. The door will be to the original design, in hardwood for longevity, retaining all metal door furniture and painted to the original colour.
The pointing on the west external wall and chimney stacks of Ivy Cottage to be inspected and where required repaired. This will be with lime mortar to retain the heritage of the cottage.
To address the cracking on the north chimney breast caused by severe dry weather the cracks are opened-up and thoroughly repaired, ideally helibars or similar should be adopted across the cracks (bedded in epoxy mortar) and the final repointing undertaken in lime mort
